OPERA/VOICE
Bambina Mia
Length: 5:51
Instrumentation: Soprano vocalist, Full Orchestra (Piccolo, Flute, Oboe, English Horn, Clarinet B Flat, Bassoon, French Horn (2), Trumpet B flat, Trombone, Tuba, Timpani, Splash Cymbal, Piano, Strings [Violins 1 & 2, Viola, Cello, Double Bass])
Description: Composed for soprano and full orchestra, with piano, this dramatic Italian operatic piece starts and finishes big and is full of emotion, from bittersweet to love. Great for a dramatic, flexible soprano seeking to expand repertoire containing great range and coloratura. Note: in the below recording, violin subs for soprano voice.
Vita
Length: 4:18
Instrumentation: Soprano and/or Tenor vocalist(s), Full Orchestra (Piccolo, Flute, Oboe, English Horn, Clarinet B Flat (2), Bassoon, French Horn (2), Trumpet B flat, Trombone, Tuba, Timpani, Splash Cymbal, Harp, Strings [Violins 1 & 2, Viola, Cello, Double Bass])
Description: Starts in C minor with a slow, daunting of pizzicato strings supporting a quiet soprano and/or tenor melody completely in octaves. English Horn doubles the melody. Then, all instruments and voices explode triumphantly while the lyrics give a story of trying yet never quite making it. While Composer originally prefers it be performed as tenor solo, this Italian opera piece with full orchestra may also be performed as a solo or duet with soprano. If theatre scene is added, perhaps the soprano can perform the first half while tenor performs the final half.
Innamorato di te
Length: 5:25
Instrumentation: Soprano vocalist, Tenor vocalist optional, Full Orchestra (Piccolo, Flute, Oboe, English Horn, Clarinet B flat (2), Bassoon, French Horn (3), Trombone, Tuba, Timpani, Harp, Splash Cymbal, Strings [Violin 1 & 2, Viola, Cello, Double Bass])
Description: Italian opera piece begins with playful harp and string pizzicato, then the timpani starts a blooming that decrescendos to a beautiful blending of French Horns, harp, and soprano, who sings a melody of love. This piece, which is an arrangement of the composer's R&B song, In Love with You, was originally composed for soprano and full orchestra, yet can be performed with tenor, which duets later in the piece to complement the declaration of love. The original R&B version of the song works well as a wedding processional song. There is currently no string or small ensemble arrangement or piano reduction.
